A townhall meeting will be held to update area veterans on several crucial issues. The meeting is being held in the Appleseed Room of the Memorial Coliseum on Monday, July 2, 2007, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Third district Congressman Mark Souder will be joined by Tom Applegate, Director of the Indiana Department of Veterans Affairs; Linda Belton, Director of the Veterans Integrated Services Network (VISN) #11, and Cathie Spivey-Paul, Director of the Fort Wayne VA Hospital.

Updates will be given on the Fort Wayne VA Hospital and the new Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) to be located in Elkhart County. Congressman Souder will also provide an update on legislation important to veterans.

We don’t often see this many high level people holding a meeting together, so I would guess that the topics are very important. The Appleseed Room holds about 200 people, so veterans and their supporters who are able to attend should make every effort to do so.
