- Benjamin Franklin, at 81, was the oldest stateman attending the Constitutional Convention. He was the only one of the Founding Fathers to have signed all four historical documents which taken together provided the foundation for our new nation. Those documents included:
- He had doubts and misgivings about the new Constitution, which can be seen in the sidebar containing his statements at the end of the Convention.
- Due to poor health, Mr. Franklin needed help to sign the Constitution and did so with tears streaming down his face.
I was raised in the small town of South Whitley just 25 miles west of Fort Wayne and moved to Fort Wayne almost 25 years ago. I now live in the historic West Central Neighborhood of Fort Wayne, Indiana.
I am retired and love gardening, crafts of all kinds, working on my home, and collecting books for my small library.
